Corporate & Social Responsibility In The Community & Business

AFC CHARVIL.jpg

For the past twelve years EPSCM (formerly EPS Ltd) has supported the local grass-roots football team AFC Charvil, assisting financially with equipment such as match balls and mobile practice goals, along with providing match kit sponsorship for the past four years. We have donated £5000 to help AFC Charvil attain their required contribution of £10000 to fund a 3G training and all-weather match facility installed by Berkshire County Sports, a registered charity with which the club is affiliated. This amenity is used by the football club and the local community.

In addition to supporting the local grass-roots youth football club, EPSCM have partnered with local charity, The Cowshed.

The Cowshed, a community-driven cause dedicated to providing support to individuals of all backgrounds during times of personal crisis, from individuals escaping domestic abuse and families experiencing emergency rehousing to those affected by health-related poverty, homelessness or emergency custody situations.

Our Social Responsibilities Representative has had a close relationship with The Cowshed since 2019 and recently EPSCM provided vehicles, drivers and manpower to assist with transporting furniture and supplies during the charity’s recent site move.

Last year the Cowshed’s Christmas Appeal saw over 3,000 Christmas sacks and hampers distributed to Berkshire children and families in need. All gifts are donated and The Cowshed uses red wheelie bins to help encourage local companies donate new toys. EPSCM, many of our suppliers and some of our clients will host a wheelie bin for a week which we will then collect and deliver back to the Cowshed. This December EPSCM employees have volunteered to help with the Cowshed’s Christmas Appeal and will spend a morning session choosing suitable Christmas gifts, wrapping them and filling Christmas sacks for children within Berkshire who would otherwise not receive presents.

Going forward, all employees will be given a set number of days per year of paid leave to volunteer within a local charity or community organisation – this will be written into every employee contract at their next review.

We have provided literature and links to the Cowshed website to our suppliers to help them promote their own social values. Our Social Responsibilities Representative ensures we continue to support and investigate new opportunities to improve and increase the social value EPSCM provide to the local community.
