For us, honoring an NDA goes beyond legal compliance; it’s about professionalism and the confidence our clients place in us.
The Marketing Challenge
While NDAs are essential, they create a unique challenge when it comes to showcasing our expertise. Marketing thrives on specifics—eye-catching visuals, measurable outcomes, and project details that resonate with audiences. Social media algorithms and readers alike are drawn to names, locations, before-and-after images, and design features. Unfortunately, those are exactly the elements NDAs often restrict us from sharing.
This can leave us with limited ways to describe our work. A line like “we completed a large commercial build” doesn’t carry the same weight as a visual transformation or a named client success story. Potential clients naturally want to see tangible proof of capabilities, from past results to direct testimonials. As the saying goes, “a picture tells a thousand words,” but when the picture is locked away, the story loses impact.
Rethinking Strategy
NDAs cut off both levers that typically drive marketing—attention through specifics, and trust through proof. This forces us to innovate, leaning on indirect marketing strategies and creative storytelling that still reflect our skills without breaching confidentiality.
It’s a fine balance, but one we embrace with the same commitment we bring to every project. Protecting our clients comes first—always.
